Terms of service

LAST UPDATED AUGUST 2026

These terms govern your use of books4books.com and any purchase you make from Buddha University Press, an imprint of Buddha Digital Temple. By using the site or buying a title, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Books4Books is the retail site of Buddha University Press, an imprint of Buddha Digital Temple. Ebook sales are made by us and processed by Stripe. Paperback sales are made by Lulu, our print-on-demand partner, under Lulu's own terms.

2. Accounts

You may buy as a guest with an email address, or create an account to keep a permanent library. Keep your email inbox secure: anyone with access to it can request fresh download links for your orders.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the email address you give us. We deliver receipts and download links to that address and cannot recover an order sent to an address you do not control without proof of purchase.

3. Ebook licence

An ebook purchase grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read the work and keep personal copies on devices you own or control, for you and your household.

You may not resell, sublicense, upload to a file-sharing service, distribute, or publish the files, in whole or in part. Our files carry no DRM; that is a matter of trust, not a waiver of copyright.

Short quotations for review, teaching, or scholarship are welcome with attribution. Anything longer needs written permission — write to press@books4books.com.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars and may change without notice; the price displayed at checkout is the price you pay. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.

Where tax applies to a digital sale in your jurisdiction, it is calculated at checkout and shown before you pay.

5. Downloads

Download links allow five downloads over thirty days. Expired or exhausted links can be re-issued free of charge to the email address on the original order, and account holders can mint fresh links from their library at any time.

6. Paperbacks

Print editions are sold, produced, and shipped by Lulu. When you click through to buy a paperback you enter a contract with Lulu, and Lulu's terms, delivery estimates, and returns policy apply to that order.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to breach the site's security, scrape the catalogue at scale, resell access, or submit reviews or messages that are unlawful, defamatory, or abusive. Submitted reviews are moderated before publication and may be edited for length or declined.

8. Nature of the material

Our books discuss religious, spiritual, and traditional practice. They are published for study. Nothing in them is medical, legal, psychological, or financial advice, and no book substitutes for a qualified teacher, a physician, or a lawyer.

9. Liability

The site is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from any purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the affected order. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Changes and governing law

We may revise these terms; the date above shows the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page. Any dispute is handled under the laws applicable at our principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
