DMCA & copyright
LAST UPDATED AUGUST 2026
We publish DRM-free files because readers deserve to own what they buy. That trust depends on copyright being enforced when it is broken — in either direction.
Our work
Every title published by Buddha University Press is protected by copyright. If you find our files posted on a file-sharing site, a Telegram channel, or a course platform, send us the link at legal@books4books.com. We do not pursue individual readers; we pursue distributors.
Sending us an infringement notice
If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, email legal@books4books.com with the subject line 'DMCA notice'.
Your notice must include: identification of the copyrighted work; the exact URL of the material you say infringes it; your name, address, telephone number, and email; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent, or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them; and your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next
We review notices promptly and remove or disable access to material that appears to infringe, then notify whoever supplied it. Incomplete notices are returned with a note on what is missing.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address including the material and its former location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you hold that good-faith belief, your contact details, your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court, and your signature.
Where the law requires it, we may restore the material after the statutory waiting period unless the original complainant files a court action.
Repeat infringers
Accounts used to distribute our titles unlawfully are closed, and download links attached to them are revoked.
Traditional knowledge
Some material in our catalogue derives from oral tradition held by communities rather than individuals. If you represent a lineage or house and believe something we have published misattributes or misuses your material, write to us. We take that as seriously as any copyright claim and will correct or withdraw where the claim is sound.
